Star Trails & Milky Way Over Moulton Barn

A group of friends and I traveled to five national parks during July 2021. Grand Teton National Park was the second along the journey of 17 days. We planned, plotted, and scouted Mormon Row to understand star trail and Milky Way direction over the barns. Half the fun of capturing these images is having a group of people with you that enjoy the capture process and the journey to get there.

Sand Dunes Storm

A friend and I visited northern New Mexico and Great Sand Dunes National Park in southern Colorado one summer and witnessed a storm on the horizon like no other. The colors and cloud formations were unlike anything I had ever seen before. The winds were whipping wildly across the flat lands and the temperatures dropped. Being in that moment and witnessing those shapes and colors brought me to tears. God's hand in nature is truly awe-inspiring.

Milky Way over Mount Rainier

While I was on the west coast teaching lighting and posing at a few camera stores, I found myself in close proximity to Mount Rainier. I literally had 24hrs before my flight home and it was during a new moon phase. I saw sunrise over the mountain itself, luckily on a clear day where the reflection in the water was still and perfect.
